Naturally, being a photography-lover first, human second, I took some photos as I was prepping the room for the evening and as the night unfolded, and as soon as I started to flip through the photos, I knew I wanted to share them. Again, for a night that was supposed to be a casual get-together with some good friends, things didn’t turn out too bad, if I do say so myself! So, today, I’m going to do just that, as well as share some tips for you to use should you decide to host your very own game night, or any other kind of gathering, for that matter! I am by no means the authority in hosting, heck, I’m not even 25 years of age yet! I have hundreds of parties still on my list to host, but the following are some thoughts I have on making hosting as easy as counting 1,2,3!
Well, hello, hello friends! How are you on this fine Tuesday afternoon?! Can you believe there are only 3 sleeps until Christmas! Wow, has December ever flown by!!
Today’s write-up is very special, in fact, I can barely contain my excitement as I type this. Do you remember the giveaway I mentioned in this article…? IT’S HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Keep Reading Merry Stockmas…
Well, hello, there friend! Happy Thursday!
So, this article is about 15 days overdue but, you know what they say, better late than never! 🙂
If you read Volume 1 of The Colour Study, you know that my goal in this little experiment of mine is to switch up the aesthetic of my Instagram page on a monthly basis, as to fit a certain season, mood and maybe even evoke a certain type of emotion from my followers. The first month, October, I opted to start strong with a bold colour, orange, and if you remember, I mentioned that for the month of November, I wanted to choose a theme and colour that is a little bit softer and more neutral in tone. However, I didn’t compile a nice little overview for you of how it turned out, which is so not fair, or cool, especially if you don’t follow me on Instagram (which you totally should, it’s essentially my life at the moment, I love it SO much! ;))! And so, it is time for a #ColourStudy update (YAY!)! Let’s begin, shall we?? 🙂
In the interest of full disclosure, I did not plan on writing an article about this cake at all. However, sometimes, a girl can no longer justify sitting in her bedroom listening to the Gilmore Guys podcast while doing nothing else. Sometimes, a girl gets a sudden urge to bake something fun, festive and tasty, and sometimes, said baked good ends up looking so pretty, it would be a crime for her not to share it with the world. Enter the maple pecan chocolate cake. Read on and enjoy, friends…
I’m not a cook, in any sense of the word. I definitely enjoy being in the kitchen, experimenting with various ingredients and flavours, seeing what happens when I add a bit of this or when I sautée my broccoli instead of roasting it, etc., however, I’m not a cook. Barring a cooking class I took when I was
a young warthog about 9 as part of the Girl Guides, I’ve not had any formal training in the kitchen (and, let’s be honest…that was maybe 2 hours of a professional chef trying to wrangle some very energetic children, and… I only did it for the badge). I’m not a baker, nor am I a candle-stick maker, but all of that being said, I think some of my happiest moments have been, are and will be spent in a kitchen.
Something about having the freedom to make, well, whatever you want to make, whether it be a quick bag of popcorn or a three-course meal, not having (many) limits and having the space and ability to let your creative juices flow really appeals to me. Thus, a few days ago, I stepped into the kitchen to conquer a strange yearning I had to make and subsequently eat some chocolate cake (fun facts about me: one, I’m not a big chocolate fan and two, as shameful as this may seem, before Sunday, I’d never made chocolate cake from scratch before). I didn’t know if the cake would rise or sink (HA! No pun intended!), but dangnabit, I was going to have fun in the process. Spoiler alert, it didn’t fail at all; in fact, I’ll be damned if it’s not one of my greatest achievements in the kitchen…
Hi friends, how’s it going!? As I haven’t been around in a while, happy June! Can you believe we’re already SIX, almost seven months into 2015!? I can’t! I hope the month is treating you well so far and here’s to the final third of it being completely AWESOME! 😀
A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending a Pink Garden party organized by one of my favourite bloggers, Amanda of Pink The Town. It was quite the event, with tons of pink and other feminine details around every corner (hello, I was in my element!) and plenty of fun activities to keep everyone attending occupied for hours on end. Today, I’m going to show you how much fun you missed out on and if you’re in the Toronto area, why you should attend Amanda’s next event! 😉
