Heyo! Happy Sunday to ya! I hope you’re having a good day so far! 🙂
Tomorrow, I start my summer job. I’m equally nervous and excited, as I’ve missed the people I used to work with (I had the same summer job last year), but I’m also nervous to see what’s changed, how, why, etc. It’s silly, really, as I don’t really have anything to worry about, but, hey, I always get nervous the day before. It’s just the way I am. 😀
So, today I wanted to be a little different with my makeup. I usually play it safe, because that’s what I’m comfortable with and it’s what I like, so I usually go fairly neutral with my makeup, unless I’m wearing a bold lip. In fact, I cannot remember the last time I pulled out my colour eyeshadows! However, today being my last day of freedom (kidding – kind of ), I decided to risk it for a biscuit (why not!?). So, I bring you my funky makeup of the day…bold, bright, editorial-inspired and needless to say, FUN!
***warning – this post is going to be fairly photo heavy because my eyeshadow is really complex and it’s better to show you than to explain. Plus, as they say, a picture speaks a thousand words! Okay, here we go! :)***
I told you it was bright, lol! I was in the mood for something more dramatic than usual, and originally even pulled out gunmetal greys and taupes to create a regular, smokey eye. However, I caught a glimpse of MAC’s Teal pigment in my palette out of the corner of my eye and it got me thinking, and before you know it, this is what happened! I really like that it’s a smokey eye but it’s still got some colour. Most people, myself included, think of brown or grey when they hear the term “smokey eye,” so it was really nice to switch things up. Plus, the teal makes my brown eyes stand out a little more.

The best thing about this look is that it looks much more complicated than it is to create and is quite eye-catching. Definitely do not wear this on a day that you want to be a shrinking violet! Haha! I went out to the grocery store today and got a couple of compliments from random strangers, and when I saw my friend Brooke this evening for coffee, she told me she loved it and I should wear bright colours more often. I usually just shrug off comments like that because I don’t typically gravitate towards those kind of looks, but you know what, this was fun! When is the last time YOU wore colour on your eyes? Was it recently? What colour, and how did you pull it off? I want to know, so let me know in the comments below, please! 🙂
Well, that’s it for today! Just wanted to share my makeup with you! I hope that you enjoyed this hope and have a marvellous day (well, what’s left of it) and a fantastic week! I’ll be back soon with another post, but until then….
