You thought I forgot about you, didn’t you? No, I could never do that! I’ve just been super busy (as per) and haven’t had much time to even think up ideas for the blog, let alone actually WRITE a post! I’m sorry about that, and I’m hoping things will die down soon enough so that I can write some more.
Anyways… today’s post isn’t about that! In my haste to explain my absence, I totally forgot to wish you all a Happy Halloween! I hope that you are having a good day so far! What are your plans for tonight? You trick-or-treating? Going to a fun soiree? Staying in? I am personally doing what I do every year (at least since I was about 14/15), and that’s hide upstairs with my parents with all of the lights off. LOL! I know, I know, how anti-social of me! I must admit, every year I say I’m going to celebrate Halloween in a different way than usual, but every year I end up doing the exact same thing. I would, ideally, have a party, but a) Halloween has been smack dab in the middle of the week for the last few years (DRAG) and also, b) the last time I threw a Halloween bash, it didn’t go so well… (if you don’t know the story, I invited about 11 of my closest friends and only 3 turned up, and then drama ensued. Whatever *talk to the hand*). So, that being said, I’m curled up, in my room, laptop in…well, lap, and coffee in hand, writing this blog post! I think next year I’m going to ACTUALLY break the trend and hand out candy to the little kiddies left in the neighbourhood (it’s an old street, everyone’s all grown up now). Either that, or go to a party, or oooh, ooh! Have a scary movie marathon! I did that once with the bestie and it was tons of fun (albeit way too damn scary for me)! 🙂
Anywho, I digress (AGAIN, see, not much has changed! LOL)…
I wanted to do a fun post today and I made my makeup all festive, so I thought I’d do a quick face of the day! You see, I always go all out for holidays. I am always the one with makeup coordinated with the holidays (lots of pink for Valentine’s Day, a pop of green liner on St. Patrick’s Day, etc.), and who will, more often than not, wear clothes or accessories to go with the day. I have always been like that, since I was a little kid. I believe in spreading joy, 24/7, but especially on holiday days. It’s just my way of expressing myself and enjoying the day’s magic. I actually find that the older I get, the more fun it is, as you can come with fun, unexpected ways to throw in that extra pizzazz that you most likely wouldn’t have thought of as a child or teenager.
That being said, here is my makeup for today! I decided to go with a wash of orangey-brown on my lid and purple liner, as, though the first two colours I think of when it comes to Halloween are orange and green (pumpkins, get it?), I’ve been told several times by friends (namely my best friend), that most people associate orange and PURPLE with Halloween. Who knew!? I decided to keep most of my look pretty neutral, with purple being the main theme and the orange as a pop of colour. Anyways, that’s enough jibber jabber…let’s get to the pics! 🙂

All things considered, I must say, I have to thank the friends who have repeatedly told me about the whole orange and purple versus orange and green thing. I really like the way this look turned out, and I don’t think I would have been as happy or as comfortable if I went for orange eyeshadow with a pop of green liner. Sure, it would have been okay, but the purple flatters me and is not so shocking or alarming You can’t make a huge statement everyday, and as I spent most of my day at home today anyways, a statement look would have gone totally wasted. Also, as it’s fairly neutral, I could totally recreate this look/wear this look on any other day…whereas, orange and green is totally a fall/Halloween look in my eyes. Then again, that’s only my personal opinion. If you feel like rocking an orange and green look, by all means, go for it (and more power to ya, girl! :D)!!
What do you think of this look? Do you like it? When would you choose to wear it? Let me know in the comments below!
Anyways, I’m off… my laptop battery is about to die (I guess that’s what they have PLUGS for, Siobhan!!! *facepalm*)!
I sincerely hope you enjoyed this post and hopefully I’ll be back to talk to you again soon!
Until then, much love,
