Hello my lovely readers! How are you? I sincerely hope you are well and are having a great start to the week. 🙂
Today, I want to start a new series, called Incredible Inspiration. This series is going to be, well, exactly what it sounds like. It is going to a number of posts in which I discuss and highlight my favourite people in the world. There are some people in this world that I draw such inspiration from, whether it is beauty and fashion inspiration or real-life inspiration. As most of you know, I went through a very rough time with my health in 2007 and 2010. Ever since, I can honestly say that I look at life through what I consider to be a new set of eyes; I appreciate and value everything, even the little things. I have a whole list of people to talk about, and when I look at/think about these people, my whole mood changes. I am instantly inspired, and I want you to be inspired as well. Some of these people will be celebrities, and obviously, I have never met them, but they inspire me none-the-less. Some of these people will be “real” people, and when I say that, I mean people that are an active presence in my day-to-day life. One of the main reasons that I am starting this series is to get a discussion going about the different people that inspire us, so I encourage you to comment below!
Today, I want to start off this exciting new series with one of my greatest inspirations, Ms. Sarah Hyland.
How do I even begin?? Sarah Hyland is possibly the cutest, yet simultaneously sexiest young actress of my generation. She is only one year older than me but has accomplished SO much. She is extraordinarily talented and therefore has acted in countless film and television productions. I think that the way that she acts and dresses is the epitome of class. She is not one of those crazy young actresses who smokes, drinks and parties all night (and I think we all know who I am talking about). When she does party, she does it with a group of friends that share her morals and live the same kind of respectful lifestyle that she does. It is for this reason that I think that she is one of the only young actresses of my generation that is a true role model. And what’s best is, it doesn’t even look like she tries.
I have always liked her, since the moment when I first saw the first episode of her claim-to-fame, Modern Family, in which she plays Haley Dunphy. She won my heart with her funny and superbly witty personality on camera (as Haley) and her sweet and kind personality off camera. However, she completely won me over when I learnt recently that she has had a life long struggle with kidney dysplasia (which is a malformation of one or both kidneys, which leads to numerous complications). She had gotten quite sick throughout her childhood because of this and in April of this year, she got a kidney transplant to help with her condition (and basically to cure her, though she will need to continue to go to hospitals for check-ups for the rest of her life). I think it is absolutely marvelous that this young woman, who is a celebrity, so we somewhat self-consciously assume that her life is perfect, has gone through such a tough struggle and still remains the same outstanding person. For this, she is, in my eyes, an even better role model, as she inspires anyone to keep on fighting and to look at the bright side.
When you get past the incredible young lady that Sarah is, her makeup and fashion style is BOMB-DIGGITY. Seriously, I would like to steal her style, as she gives off the perfect balance of stylish, fabulous, and trendy yet still manages to be elegant and mature (but not too mature, if you know what I mean). And obviously, I am not the only one who feels this way, as Sarah is frequently on “best dressed” lists.
Don’t believe me? Check it out:

See what I mean!? She’s gorgeous and has such taste.

Also, she is a living testament of how (I feel) to use makeup properly. She doesn’t wear it all of the time, she seems to be comfortable being photographed without any on, and only uses it to enhance her already beautiful features (not to plaster on three layers of fakeness, like so many other young celebs do).

Yet another reason why I adore Sarah, is her relationship with Matt Prokop. Not only are they AH-DOR-ABLE, but they seem to have their priorites straight. They have been dating since 2009, but yet you hear no rumours about her getting pregnant or anything of the like. They both seem to be focused on their acting careers, and while they do have fun and go out with their friends, they are proving to younger generations that you CAN have it all; balance is key. It makes her even more amazing in my book, because I definitely could not say that about all young, female celebrities.
All in all, I would say that Sarah Hyland is a phenomenal young lady. She has an amazing way of making me feel happy and blessed. When I am in the depths of confusion, whether it be about something silly like what I am going to wear tomorrow or something more serious like what I would like to do with my life in the future, the thought of her cheers me up. I know that it sounds super cheesy, but it’s true. Everything from seeing a photo of her shopping to watching her shine in Modern Family or Geek Charming (a Disney movie that she did), gives me hope, encourages me and makes me think. And to me, that’s what a spectacular inspiration is.
Thanks for being you, Sarah. An inspiration to young ladies, everywhere, since 1990. 😉 ♥
