Another song that I’ve been loving, but especially in June, is also one that might get some derisive chuckles…but I don’t care! The song in question? Loud by R5. If you are not familiar with R5, they are a band consisting of mainly Lynch family members, and one non-Lynch member. They actually decided on the name “R5” because all of the members names begins with an R (Riker, Ross, Rydel and Rocky) and the non-Lynch family member in the group is Ellington Ratliff. Thus, R5 was born. The band is great, they sing some great songs, but I adore “Loud”. The star of the group is the lead singer, Ross Lynch, who is also an actor. He is a triple threat, as he is quite the looker, and he can act and has vast musical talent. The song is such a fun, summer-y song that just makes you want to dance and sing along. Don’t believe me? Check it out:
Favourite Television of the Month ◘
Continuing on the Ross Lynch theme, I was loving a TV show called Austin & Ally. It is basically a show about an outgoing boy named Austin who has musical talent (portrayed by Ross Lynch *insert emoji with hearts for eyes ;)*) and a shy girl named Ally who works in a music shop that writes songs and plays piano on the sly (portrayed by Laura Marano, who is the younger sister of Vanessa Marano, of “Gilmore Girls” and “Switched at Birth” fame). The unlikely pair end up becoming a team when Austin hears Ally singing a song she wrote and decides to sing it himself and post it on the internet. Ally, of course, gets upset and when she confronts Austin, Austin convinces her that they’d be great as partners, with Ally writing his songs and him performing them. Ally agrees, and before they know it, Austin becomes an “overnight sensation.” As cheesy as the show sounds, it’s actually a pretty funny show with very entertaining storylines and relatable characters. All of that’s great, but it’s actually the chemistry between Austin and Ally that drew me to the show. When it first came out as a show, I thought it wouldn’t be very good at all, but the undeniable chemistry between the two is what kept me coming back for more. In the first season, it was obvious that the writers saw their chemistry, but they didn’t fully explore it until the second season. The last three episodes that I saw in June were too freakin’ cute for words. I just want them to get together (and STAY together) already!!

Speaking of amazing shows, in June, I got hooked (and I mean HOOKED) on a show that I don’t think is as popular as it should be. The show is called Awkward. and if you like comedy and can relate to an awkward, struggling-to- be-who-she-is 15-year-old, this show is definitely one that you should consider watching. The show centres on Jenna Hamilton and her (somewhat) misfortunate life, the (chaotic) high school adventures she has and the (very entertaining) situations that she gets pulled into. The show also centres on a little bit of a love triangle between a guy named Matty and another named Jake, and this continues for all of Season 1 and most of Season 2. However, she [finally] makes a decision on who she wants to be with at the end of the second season. Now, I hate to pull this Twilight-esque crap on you lovely people, but these two boys that could be Jenna’s potential partner are very different and you will most definitely prefer one or the other. In my opinion, there is only one side that she should have chosen and she definitely chose the wrong guy (trying not to give too much away here). However, since choosing who she did, the other guy has found another love and I quite like him with who he is currently with…so, I GUESS that’s okay (teehee!). Anyways, the show is hilarious and has the MOST funny yet you-feel-like-you-could-be-friends-with-them characters I’ve seen in a long, long time. Once you start watching, you WILL get sucked in, so don’t resist too much, okay? Plus, the show has an amazing cast, some “bombass” music (you need to watch if you want to know where the bombass came from ;)) and impeccable dialogue. I highly, highly, highly recommend!! 😀

Favourite Movie of the Month ♣ You know those movies that you see the trailer for and instantly want to see it, but when it comes out, you don’t, either because you can’t afford it or can’t be bothered? To be honest, Pitch Perfect was one of those movies for me and the reason for my delay in seeing it was a combination of both, as it came out in October of last year, and I was going through a lot at the time in terms of my health and also didn’t have a job, so I saved my money for the essentials (you know, bills, transportation and makeup ;]). Well, I finally saw it and I LOVE it! Sure, some call it cheesy and some call it lame, but, in my opinion, it’s neither. It’s the perfect combo of classic cliche musical and sass and quick wit. It’s got some really catchy songs, some hilarious one liners and… this movie is where the recent crave for the song “Cups” has come from. Plus, it has a mostly female cast (GIRL POWER :D) and was the breakout role for the lovely and hilarious Rebel Wilson. Good stuff!

Favourite Youtuber of the Month ♥
So, let it be known, and known from this very moment: there is nothing I enjoy more than watching a family interact. Whether it’s a parent looking after an adorable newborn or toddler, or reacting to the hilarious quips of a bratty teenager, I find nothing more entertaining. This is why, when I discovered a YouTube channel called It’s Judy’s Life, I instantly fell in love, and I fell in love HARDCORE. I’ve been watching Judy for a while now, as she has a beauty channel on YouTube as well, and I find her videos very helpful and informative. That being said, I’ve never really been intrigued by her vlog channel when she has mentioned it in videos, that is, until about the middle of May, when I stumbled onto the channel by accident and I have been hooked ever since. The channel is exactly what it sounds like, a bunch of daily vlogs revolving around her life, which include her sweet and quirky husband, Benji, and her ADORABLE little newborn girl, Julianna (or Julianna-Bear if you watch their videos, hehe). They are just the cutest little family and their everyday adventures are fun to watch. Here’s a snippet of the daily fun:
Favourite App of the Month ▲
Pocket. Planes. Oh my jiggly moggily oggily. No, those are not words that currently exist in the English language but they are literally the only words that I can think of right now that express how awesome this game is and how much I love it. If you have ever played/gotten unreasonably obsessed with a game called Tiny Tower, get ready to love and take your obsession to new heights (pun intended ;))! Basically, Pocket Planes is a phone app/game that allows you to run your own airline. It is actually made by the same people who make Tiny Tower, and is three times as addictive! You can build airports, buy planes, build planes and earn money to sustain your airline! You have to option to open up flights at any airport in the world (and trust me, this app has a LOT of airports), but it’s up to you to make enough money to make sure your airline can survive. It may not sound like a lot of fun, but trust me! It’s a lot of fun and I’ve really gotten into it. Plus, I’ve gotten a couple of friends into it as well and they seem to enjoy it, so, that’s always a good sign. So, if you have a couple of minutes to spare, check it out, but be aware that if you DO get into it, you’ll be spending a fair amount of your day checking up on your precious pocket planes and looking to see how much revenue you’ve made. That being said, it’s a lot of fun and is something great to look into if you are in a need of a new game to get hooked on. I hope you enjoy!

Favourite Workout of the Month ♦
Okay, so I know this one sounds a little crazy…especially because a lot of people do not actually ENJOY working out, but, hear me out! When I know I have to work out or I have planned to hit the gym with a friend, I usually dread it. Actually, I don’t just dread it, I dread it with every fibre of my being and regret the moment I conceived the thought. However, after I actually do it, I run the lap or do my 30th push up (yea, I’m pretty weak), I feel really happy. I realize this is mainly because of the endorphins floating around my body, but it’s also because of the pride that I have because I didn’t let my lazy side win out over my hard worker side. As a result of this happy, good feeling that I get instantaneously after a good workout session, I’m always trying to look for a fun exercise to do where it doesn’t really feel like I’m working out so I can trick my brain into NOT dreading the physical activity. First, it was yoga, which I still do to this day, and then it was kickboxing, which, I also practice to this day (SO much fun!), but in the last couple of months, I’ve wanted something else to focus on. Enter Blogilates aka the coolest, most fun, exciting, invigorating exercise I think I have ever done in my life. What is it, you may ask? Well, it’s basically a different form of pilates with both a cardio portion and a yoga/stretch portion invented by an awesome young lady named Cassey Ho. She is a pilates instructor who got tired of the same ol’ pilates routine, so she made her own routines up and, after much enthusiasm and encouragement from her students, she shared her routines through her website. Since then, Blogilates has grown into a huge group of people (600,000 people and growing everyday), old and young, fit and unfit, beginner and advanced, that join in on her routines. She has her own YouTube channel, her own website, and every month she creates a customized calendar that her viewers can follow daily. I’ve been into it for a number of weeks, but this month, I got really invested in completing each workout and reading her website for quick little tips. Honestly, finding her YouTube channel was one of the happiest accidents that has ever happened to me and if I could recommend just ONE thing out of my favourites this month to y’all, it would be this. I kid you not, it’s a little tricky at first, but once you get a bit better at performing the basic moves and lose your inhibitions, these workouts will blow you away. Plus, they are actually fun, Cassey is super positive and motivational AND I’ve noticed that I am getting (gradually) stronger. WINNING.

Alrighty, so that is it for my first favourites post! I’m so excited to be getting this info out there on a different platform! If you like these posts and/or want to see more of them in the future, please let me know in the comments! Thanks! Here’s hoping you have a spectacular day!
