No, I’m not talking about the spice combo that transforms your favourite Indian dish (that’s masala, haha), and no, I’m not talking about the full-bodied, flavourful wine, either, though, I could really use some of
both either right now (being sick absolutely sucks). No, no, I’m talking about Pantone’s 2015 Colour of the Year that I am in love with! Ever since they announced the new “it” colour of 2015 last week, I’ve been drooling over the rich, earthy, deep burgandy-brown shade and getting all excited for the new beauty, fashion and home décor products that are surely in production right this very second.
What do I love most about Marsala? The fact that is completely, truly versatile. The sophisticated, feminine and not too bold or in-your-face colour can be used in the home, in your outfit or in your beauty routine and you WON’T look overdone or cray-cray if you do, unlike the current colour of the year, Radiant Orchid. Really, I’m all for hot pinks but that particular shade of pink was – woah – bright, to say the very least, and even with my dark complexion, I found it hard to work into my everyday routine. However, with Marsala, it’s got the perfect combination of dressy and casual vibes, so it will work perfectly in multiple places in your daily routine. For example, if you’re feeling a little risqué and want to go bold or eye-catching for the day, you could wear this beautiful shade on your eyelids or as a lovely, sheer blouse. But, if you were feeling more reserved or wanted to look a bit more sophisticated for the day, you could totally wear this colour on your lips to pull your look together or wear it as a classy handbag! And all of my fair ladies, do not shy away from this colour or be afraid of it in any way, it’s just a matter of finding the right shade for you! Trust me, if my girl Emma Stone can rock the warm, spicy shade, so can you. That’s the best news about this colour, it truly works on every complexion and it’ll work with any and every undertone you could possibly throw at it.
As you can see from the photos above, I already have some “Marsala” products, but I honestly can’t wait to get my hands on some more! It’s a colour that always looks nice on my complexion, and I know that I’ll be able to pull it off whichever way I choose to wear it. Yay!
So, what about you? Are you pleased with next year’s “it” colour? I think this one is a love it or hate it kind of colour, and most people feel very strongly whichever way they swing. I personally love it, and I’m really glad that Pantone made this choice. Do you enjoy it, or would you have preferred another shade? If so, what were you thinking? Let me know down below, please! 😀
Until next time,
ps – if you’re still a little confused about how to wear this colour and/or need some guidance, just let me know in the comments and I’ll do a post on it! 🙂
