Throughout the year, I usually get into several makeup routines. Sometimes, this is made up of tons of different products, and sometimes it is made up of just a few. Regardless, depending on my general makeup mood and the amount of time that I have, I often use a certain amount of products for a given period of time. Of course, I still wear other makeup, but these items are just my most reached for items for a select period.
I used to keep these various products in my vanity drawers, but a couple of months ago, my mom was going through her own makeup and I mentioned that I needed a box similar to hers. What came next, still surprises me, as she just dumped out her makeup onto her bathroom counter, handed the box to me and said “take it, I’ve never liked it anyways.” Needless to say, I walked away both shocked and ecstatic. I instantly moved my “routine makeup” into the box and I haven’t looked back.
In this post, I want to show you what exactly was in my makeup box for the months of May and June. Yes, these are old pictures, but don’t you worry, there will most likely be a similar post like this for July/August (so, I hope you like these kinds of posts, lol). Also, YES, this is pretty much a direct rip from Allison (aka Amarixe), as I saw her makeup box post, and thought that it would be cool to show you what was in my box, if I ever got one. Well, now I have one and it’s time for show and tell (so to speak)! 😀
Drawer One: Face/Base Products
In this first drawer, I keep all of the things I need to prepare my face for makeup. At the time, I was trying out the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation– which I have decided, I am not so fond of. I also received a sample size of the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in “Radiance” at the beginning of the summer, and I really like it. It’s great for those gals who want a healthy glow without going overboard.
Drawer Two: Face Powders/Setting Spray
My second drawer contains all of the stuff I put on my face after I’m done with concealer, eyebrows, etc. In May and June, I pretty much did the same thing on my face everyday: I would put my blush a little lower on my face so that my cheeks looked a bit more hollow (in a good way), and this worked because I chose a deeper, earthy red tone to do this (as supposed to my usual pink or coral). Next, I applied a highlight (there were two options), and then I set my face with either powder or my Skindinavia spray.

Well, that’s it for my first “My Makeup Box” post! In a couple of weeks, I’m going to write one of these posts for July & August, and after that, it’s up to you how often you see these! I usually switch up my makeup routine about every 3-4 weeks, but I can work with what you want! Just let me know in the comments below, thanks! 🙂
I hope that you enjoyed today’s post and that you have a great day!
