Now, you know you have a lot of makeup when you can make a rainbow out of a range of products. The sad thing is, this isn’t the only “rainbow” that I can create… :/ (I might be an addict…hehe, oops!) The good news is, though, that for this one, I didn’t actually go out and buy each one individually; I was lucky enough to win the majority of them in a Makeup & Beauty Blog giveaway earlier this year (Thanks again, Karen! :D). However, it was a little gloomy this morning, and overall, I’m feeling a little glum, so I thought I would cheer myself up by making a pretty little makeup rainbow. But, what good would it be if I couldn’t share the joy with you, too, right!?
The “Best of Stila” Collection
Hey beauties!
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far! 🙂
Once in a while, Sephora releases a 500 point perk/reward that sends beauty lovers reeling. Days like this don’t come often, but when they do, beauty lovers alike would do whatever it takes to make sure they swoop in just in time to pick up their reward. The last time I experienced such a day was about 6 months ago, when I read an email from Sephora that said that the new 500 point perk was a “best of” collection from the one and only Stila Cosmetics. At that point, I had heard many a good thing about Stila, but hadn’t really had the chance to check ’em out thoroughly. Thus, this 500 point perk was literally PERFECT for me, as it had a couple of different sample products that are always talked about that I could have a look at without making the costly commitment of purchasing. The set includes a “deluxe” size (read: sample) of their Eyeshadow in Kitten, Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Lionfish, Convertible Cheek Colour in Peony, Lip Glaze in Apricot and the Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso. Sounds perfect, non? Yes, but the only problem was, when I read this email, I was actually in bed, convalescing from my wisdom tooth removal. So, what did I do? Well, I did what any beauty obsessed girl would do…call her dad.
Haha, yes, my dad, being the sweet man that he is, was out at the time filling one of my prescriptions for pain killers, so I called him, freaking out. Having about a ton of gauze in my mouth and my cheeks being swollen to the size of a football (SERIOUSLY, though!), he had some trouble understanding me at first, but he did eventually get what I was saying. I texted him my beauty insider card number and the name of the perk, and lo and behold, about 40 minutes later, he came strolling through the door, Tylenol #2 and Sephora bag in hand. Seriously, folks, my dad is THE BEST on the planet.
So, for the last 6 months or so, I’ve been on a testing rampage, trying each product out in different conditions and with different looks. Want to hear what I have to say about these five products? Follow the jump!
