Apologies for the super cheese name, hehe.
Hi lovelies! I bet you thought I fell off the face of the planet, didn’t you!? No, no, your girl Sio is still here, I’ve just not been feeling well all week. 🙁 I’ve been stuck in bed for most of the week, with the odd excursion to grocery shop or you know, edumacate my little ol’ brain. I’m feeling much better now, though, so I’m back with this pretty darn cool recipe. Before I begin, though, I was wondering…I know it’s super late now, but do you want to read my thoughts on the 87th Annual Oscars on Sunday? I do have a fair amount of opinions (quelle surprise), as well as some unexpected best and worst dressed starlets, but I know that when it comes to these things, the sooner you write about it, the better. So, if you want me to write a quick little post on the Oscars, I will, you just need to tell me by commenting down below (or get at me via my other failsafe communication vessel, Twitter)! 🙂
Okay, okay, so now getting to what you actually wanted to read about, my new favourite smoothie recipe! I’ve been trying to eat a little bit better since the beginning of the year, and by that I mean, incorporate as many good things (read: fruits and veg galore) as possible into my diet and I have to say, it’s not been too bad this time around! It’s been a slow and steady journey and I’ve actually enjoyed it as opposed to other times I’ve tried to eat better when I go “hardcore” and stop by the end of the week. I do cheat every now and then, because MAN! Starbucks lattes are so ding dang delicious, but I don’t feel as guilty when I’m eating well the majority of the time. Sometimes, though, I get tired of chewing basically a whole bag of lettuce, so I’ve basically been living for smoothies! To make myself feel better, I’ve incorporated some fruit smoothies into my routine so that I’m not always staring at a glass of dark green sludge (no offence, green smoothies, I still love you). Not to worry, though, this smoothie is still just as healthy as any other, it just photographs so much better! 😉 I called this “Purple Power Potion” (insert eye-rolling emoji) because it really is quite a powerful beverage; it is quick and easy to make and provides an instant pick me up after the first couple of sips filled with nutritious goodness.
