When I went to London & Paris last month, I had no idea what I was in for. I had no idea that I would love it as much as I did, that I would really, really miss all of the amazing people I met or reconnected with, or that I’d already be planning a return. Today I’m going to share one of favourite days from when I was in Europe, the day my cousin Ashley took me around London. Unfortunately, the day that we decided to go, it was TERRIBLE weather…so get ready for lots of fog in backgrounds and messy, messy hair. However, despite the weather, I had an absolute blast with him, and it was really nice getting to see most of London’s major attractions on foot…because you could go right up to them or stand under them. It’s a pretty magical feeling in that city, and I’m going to share the magic with you!
Just a warning, this is a fairly photo-heavy post. My cousin has an amazing DSLR camera (a Canon 100D, to be precise) and is really into photography, so he took some great photos. Combine that with the fact that I’m quite indecisive and I had 1776 photos to narrow down from, you get a lot of photos. I hope you enjoy the post, anyways, friend!

In Canada, we have unwritten rules about public courtesy, and most people know to stand on the right when on an escalator or moving sidewalk. In England, it’s a RULE!

Tower of London (left), The Shard (the tall building in the centre covered my fog), and the beautiful ceramic poppy display.

The Changing of the Guard at the Supreme Court! Look how serious he is, and he’s not even at Buckingham Palace!!

Westminster Abbey aka where my parents got married! We spent a lot of time here…it’s absolutely beautiful and there’s so much to see!

Looking forward to a traditional scone with jam and cream at a cafe in the Crypt, just outside of Trafalgar Square

LOLOLOLOL. My cousin and I love that Orange’s characteristic/personality is PARANOID. OMG….too funny.

My cousin & I both don’t like Ms. Brown and her “snooty” attitude (sorry, brown lovers!), so this was my “you’re boring me” impersonation face. Muahaha!
There you have it, my day in London. It was definitely an incredible day, I got to spend time with my super cool and hilarious cousin, got to see the sights of London and learn more about the history, the culture and the city in general. Greater London is one of those places that you really can’t do in two weeks, especially when you have a huge list of family and friends to visit. To do London justice, you honestly need about a month. It sounds crazy, but there was sooooo much that I didn’t see that I would have loved to have seen and actually spend time in. However, I’m not complaining. I know I am incredibly lucky to have been able to go at all, and have a really fun day just in the core of the city. All you readers, if you live in London, I’m officially jealous of you, and if you haven’t ever visited, you really don’t know what you’re missing.
I want to say a HUGE thank you to my cousin Ashley for taking me around, laughing with me, teaching me new things, and showing me your beautiful city. I really appreciate it and it was a wonderful, marvelous day. ♥
I hope you enjoyed this rather hefty post, and thank you for reading. Have a fantastic day!
Love you all.
Much love,
S♥
ps – to those of you wondering, don’t worry, I didn’t forget about Paris. There will be a post going up shortly about my day there! Yay!
