Such cute packaging, too!

As I am sure you will see/already know, I adore MAC (which stands for Makeup Art Cosmetics, and is actually a Canada-based brand) as a cosmetics brand and a lot, if not, most of my collection is made up of their products. They have good quality products that are reasonably priced (most of the time, although my wallet would be ecstatic if they were cheaper).
Every 1-2 months throughout the year, they release a line of products that are limited edition, meaning that once they are sold out of that particular product or colour, that is it. They will not be getting any more in stores, and the company will not be producing any more. I am an avid MAC shopper 365 days of the year, but I go gaga over their limited edition collections (such pretty colours that are unique and that aren’t available year-round).
Well, there is a new collection coming out in stores and counters on February 9 here in Canada, called Shop MAC, Cook MAC. To say that I am excited is a major understatement. The last time I got this excited for a MAC limited-edition collection was a year ago, when they released the Wonder Woman collection, and I went crazy on buying from that collection. I am excited because I have been keeping up with the reviews online, and so far, so good. The collection looks like an interesting mix of colours and has a number of appealing features and repromotes. If you do not know what a repromote is, it is exactly what it sounds like; it is when MAC temporarily releases a product (or a set of products) that they have released before for another limited edition collection.
Would you like to hear about what I want from the collection and why? Read more!
Let’s start with the name of the collection, and briefly discuss the response it has gotten so far. I have loved the name ever since I read it, as I LOVE to shop and I LOVE to cook. Also, usually with MAC’s collections, they have cute names for the products to match the collection’s name/theme. To me, the name was cute and not offensive at all. However, a lot of people disagree. They find the name sexist, silly and overall, a poor decision from the marketing team at MAC. Now, I am definitely a feminist, as I stand strong for the rights of women in the world and am the first to say if something is wrong (side note: just two days ago, my dad said that he thinks my favourite word is ‘misogynist’ or ‘misogynistic’). However, I truly do not think MAC meant anything by it, as firstly, why would they do that!? It’s mostly women who buy their products…so, unless they are a light bulb short of a lamp, they wouldn’t offend their #1 customers. Also, I don’t see what is wrong with the name, as while I do know that women love to shop and cook, I know that tons of men love to do so as well (my dad, for instance :P). So, ladies, please relax 🙂
Now, getting off of my soapbox and to the point…
I was not really that into makeup the first time that tendertones came around, but they are finally being repromoted and I am oh so excited! I’ve heard so many amazing things about them, and I plan on picking up all of the colours, as crazy as that sounds considering that I am a girl on a budget! The colours seem so pretty and very appropriate for spring and summer.

Also, I am anxious to pick up some, if not, all (did I mention that I have a problem!?) of the kissable lip colours. I passed them up last year (yes, they are another repromote) because I was saving for a cruise I was going to go on and also because I was somewhat an idiot. Well, consider me an idiot no more! 🙂 They are so pretty and I have seen/heard how they well work now, so its time to get me some!

Finally, I may pick up some lipsticks, although the lord knows that I have too many MAC lipsticks already, but I may pick up a few. I love playing with different lip colours, even though, if I am honest, none of the colours in this collection call my name. We shall see.
One thing I will not be purchasing is any of the eyeshadow quads, as they are sooo expensive and I already have colours in my collection similar to those in this one. I also may not be picking up any of the fluidlines, which are a fancy name for gel eyeliner, as I have 4 already that serve me well, and the ones in this collection look similar to the ones that I own. But again…getting me in a MAC store is like putting a dog in a volcano, an all around bad situation. No joke, I’ve heard my wallet begin to sob when I walk into my local MAC, or any makeup store for that matter…
So let’s go over the list:
✓ Tendertones
✓ Kissable Lip Colours
✓ Maybe some lipsticks
✓ Maybe some fluidlines
✓Anything else that I can afford that I love!
I am going to an event on the 16th with my best friend for this collection! It’s going to be fun, as we got little coupons (hehe, get it? It works with the theme of shop!) that we can use to redeem a small giveaway and we are both getting our makeup done. I am looking forward to it, as I love going to MAC events; they are always so well done! Not to mention the fun that I have!
If you have a local MAC, call them in advance or swing by on the 9th to see if they have the collection and/or are having an event in honour of the collection. I highly recommend them! 🙂
I might “haul” the products on here, but I am doing a haul on my youtube channel (www.youtube.com/Siobhan0x) for sure, so you will be able to see what I ended up getting!
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know in a comment down below if you are looking forward to Shop MAC, Cook MAC, and if so, what is your wishlist like?
xx,
S♥
