Whoa, what a mouthful that is!

Anyways, hey lovelies! I hope you are all having a relatively good day, although, I know, it’s Monday (and we’ve all got the Monday blues, not just you, don’t worry)…
So, I’m back to today to start yet another series. This one has been in the works for a while but I wasn’t sure if I should go ahead with it, but I decided that if I’m going to do it, there’s no better day than today to start! The series, as you can see above, is called Test Drive (thanks to my Beauty Bylaws advisor Caitlyn for reassuring me on that name 😉 :D), and it is exactly what it sounds like! In this series, I am going to be doing little mini reviews of products that I want to try (whether it’s because I hear a lot of good things, I like the brand, etc.) but don’t necessarily want to buy yet. Naturally, the thing to do when I am in this situation (which happens more often than you think), is to receive a sample of it. This way, I can test out the product and determine how much I like it and if I want to buy a full size of it. I do this multiple times throughout the year, but I realized one day that I could bring you a mini review of some of the products that I try, as I figure this would be helpful.

According to the Sephora website, this colour correcting cream promises to fade imperfections, evens complexion and prevent future discolouration. I’m going to throw all of that out of the window right now, because
a) I’ve only worn it a total of 4 times, and those times were sporadic, so I honestly couldn’t tell you if it does all of these things (remember, mini review)

This cream feels just like a regular face lotion or cream. In fact, when I first tried it on my hand in Sephora (to see if it would be a colour match), it disappeared so quickly and easily that, at first, I couldn’t remember what side I actually put it on! If you are familiar with Maybelline’s Dream Fresh BB Cream, than you basically know what this is like texture-wise. It goes on a fair amount thicker on the face, but nothing that makes it uncomfortable to wear or difficult to work with.

As I haven’t worn this a whole lot, I haven’t exhausted all of my usual techniques. However, I found that using your good ol’ trusty hand works best to apply this! When I used brushes (and believe me, I tried a few of my stand-bys; the Sigma F80 brush, the MAC 188 and the Real Techniques Expert Face brush), it was much harder to blend and even out my complexion. It still looked good, and it was eventually blendable, but it was much harder work. However, when I used my hands, not only did my face look better, but it applied much quicker and was easier to work with. I also find that this, unlike some face products, was fine to apply without primer underneath. Some products, you can definitely tell when you aren’t wearing primer, but this felt the exact same to apply whichever way I spun it.

I’m going to state the obvious here, to get it out of the way. Of course, the time that I wore the CC cream with both primer and setting spray, it lasted the longest, about 7½ hours. However, the thing held up pretty darn well with no setting spray, just primer; about 6 hours. When I chose to wear it with no primer and set it with setting spray, it lasted just under 5 hours, and when I wore neither primer nor setting spray, I could see the product starting to breakaway within 3½ hours. This is slightly disappointing, as I would have hoped it would last longer if I didn’t use any kind of product to increase the longevity of the wear. Not only would this be better for our wallets, but it would also mean less chance of breakouts from excessive product buildup on the face. However, I have seen worse and this fact wouldn’t stop me from potentially buying it, as I have multiple primers and setting products.
